FYI, In the early stages of Toll planning ODOT PROMISED some items.
Equity, which is NOT in the current plan. The entire state (and the West Coast) rely on and benefit from the freeways. Yet, only small very unlucky areas will be forced to pay first and the longest tolls. Diversion Traffic will devastate many communities.
Affordability is not going to happen unless your family has excellent income. Businesses will be forced to raise their prices or suffer the big added expenses. Their employees will often have to pay more money just to get to their job. And pay again to return home.
Expect more Help Wanted signs and For Lease signs. Empty buildings are dangerous and a nuisance. The Elks club in East County, the K-Mart in NE Portland,
Miles Fiberglass in Lents, and the Graffitti Towers in Los Angeles, currently in the news.
Efficiency. Toll expenses are a very BAD joke. Nuff Said.
The State just posted the job for Toll boss. Big money pay package.
I like the term Toll God. I wonder what we get to sacrifice in addition to our money, livability, Businesses closing due to traffic and people just staying home and not having the ability to enjoy life after paying into their prepaid Toll accounts. Still no promises from ODOT that the collection company will not be
Out of Country. I hope they can actually speak English.

Always great to get these updates. It appears that we are going to be getting tolling in some form or the other. I just hope they figure it out and if we are able to get it on the ballot people who vote understand what they are voting for or against. 🤨
