In the end, this is completely about finding a new, additional pot of money for ODOT. They waste tons of money and continually ask for more.
The TOLLS will cause HUGE amounts of traffic to divert onto side roads. During the 2017-2018 "Value Pricing" Policy Advisory Committee meetings, ODOT and their WSP consultants revealed that when TOLLS were place on ALL Portland area freeways, 130,000 vehicles would be diverting on to side roads. That would be an 80,000 vehicle increase in diversion from 2017.
Portland has the nation's 12th worst traffic congestion because we refuse to add new vehicle capacity. Instead, billions have been spent on transit. The reality is transit ridership peaked over a decade ago and has been in decline ever since.
People want to use their privately owned vehicles. They want to save time. Until they "throw the bums out" and get different elected representatives, we're going to continue to WASTE taxpayer dollars and be stuck in even worse traffic jams.

It's obvious from the beginning they had no intention of listen to the people who use the freeway system. As shared by John they have been working on getting us out of our vehicles not making a system that's viable for people with jobs that depend on driving or people that are handicapped or disabled and are unable to "safely" travel on public transportation. Live outside of Portland and work there...I guess you better pull your bicycle out of storage. 🤣

I-205 (Abernethy Bridge to Stafford rd.) was promised for many years, as soon as there is money, because the State can't afford it. But when Uncle Sam returned 1.1 BILLION dollars of our taxes, I-205 didn't get a nickel.
Where are the $$$ going??? ODOT Supervisors stole about
6 Million and are now behind bars. Unfair tolls will severely hurt Clackamas County. Then Multnomah & Washington Counties. Then the entire state.
