If the dam is leaking, put your finger in the hole.

Oregon is taking an increasingly too high amount of money from Big Trucks ( 26,000 GVW ) and up, than our law requires.

The legislators started the Short Session today Feb. 5. So the State Government should

start correcting this mistake ASAP.

It can't be that difficult unless legislators walk out in a TANTRUM

again. The longer , that overcharging goes on, the more expensive and complicated it will be to be to correct it.

The Trucking Industry saved us during the worst days of Covid. Our economy and everything we need to survive is dependent on trucks. Oregon Government needs to remember this.

I have a couple of questions .

What percent does the Weight Mile Tax take off the top to run that tax?? How much is lost to cheating or mistakes?? Using the Weight Mile Tax. I know Tolling wastes about 83% to 86%.

This number doesn't seem to be guaranteed. It could be higher, or possibly some lower. Pennsylvania Toll Commission that started in 1940 is more than 13 BILLION dollars in debt. Our fuel tax uses half of one percent for comparison.

Congestion does cost money.

Business and private drivers all PAY.

I-205 will have a toll before I-5. ODOT will not say how long. What kind of expensive, dangerous, time consuming, and damage to our air will be caused by I-205 diversion to I-5 cause?? My example is Northbound traffic just going through Portland. The driver picks their route where I-205 starts. There is no reasonable route to change freeways after you start. The driver stays on that freeway until where I-205 ends in Washington. I think many "through" vehicles will divert to I-5, especially at first because drivers will not have a prepaid account set up. Congestion on I-5 now, is often a nightmare.

There has to be a better way.
