This is the toll that never ends… it goes on and on my friends! Some people started paying it not knowing what it was… and they’ll just keep on paying it forever just because…
Since word got out about ODOT’s Westside Multimodal Improvements Study (WMIS) the ground has not stopped shaking. Beaverton and Hillsboro residents are not happy about how this study evolved and the pace of which it is accelerating.
Quite honestly we want to say we told you so… on the other hand we want to warn the rest of Oregon… We Are Telling You So! There is a deep seated plan to which ODOT is holding fast to, and the Governor and Legislators seem to be in agreement with it..
In Short
Article 1 - This Hillsboro Hearld article, from Dirk Knudson, outlines the Westside tolling plan as seen from Washington County. The I-205 toll plan diversion chaos might be a shadow of what Hwy 217 and Hwy 26 will experience once tolling is implemented on those networks.
FYI, Genentech asked for this study a few years back.
Article 2 - Mentioned above, in Article 1, the WMIS agenda and outline is provided for you to read. Looking at the bottom right page numbers, pg 9 #1, “…transportation demand management…” is a word salad for tolling. Note too, pg 11, that tolling is “Emerging.”
Article 3 - When ODOT distributed a survey, via the internet, it was labeled as very disingenuous. The Regional Mobility Pricing Project was the subject of discussion and the options were basically which one of the 3 options do you prefer. No opportunity was given to state tolls were not desired.
Now, West Linn Mayor, Rory Bialostosky is raising funds for a Scientific Survey to get the real feel of Clackamas County businesses and residents. Stay tuned…
