Article 1 - We thought you might want to see the Regional Mobility Pricing Project(s) that ODOT has unveiled. While there is no direct link, we asked that you select the link, below, then scroll down to the “Regional Tolling Options” tab and click again. The concepts will be listed in the drop-down.
You only have to like one of them as these are the only options ODOT has for us.
Article 2 - Last week we mentioned ODOT’s Regional Mobility Pricing Project survey. This week, hitting the mailboxes, is the Oregon Travel Study paid for by ODOT, and Oregon’s eight Metropolitan Planning Organizations: Portland Metro, Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Governments, Lane Council of Governments, Rogue Valley MPO, Bend MPO, Middle Rogue MPO, Corvallis MPO, and Albany MPO.
WHY was I selected? “Your participation ensures households like yours are represented in city, county, and state transportation plans. Your participation can help us better understand your travel habits and choices, which will inform how we plan for improvements to transportation in your community over the next 10 years.”
How was I selected? “Invited households were selected at random across Oregon to ensure accurate representation of travel patterns.” You decide…
Article 3 - John A. Charles, Jr., President and CEO of Cascade Policy Institute, comments on Metro’s plan to alleviate congestion in the Portland area.
A common thread in this effort is to build more walking and biking paths for commuters, as well as those of us running around on errands (ie, doctor visits, taking kids to school and getting groceries) we assume. So bundle up and get your rain ponchos ready.
